  • Bank Loans

I have just finished school, and am looking to consolidate debt. What banks are best for helping out someone who is just starting out? I have heard good things about RBC.

    What are your guys thoughts?

Don't even bother with scotiabank, we're the stingiest on credit

Royal Bank has been good to me, and so has TD.

                    Re: Bank Loans

From what ive seen RBC and CIBC are the loosest with credit. Scotia is very tight as to who and how much the lend.

Edit. Forgot to mention if its goverment student loans keep it with them, as the interest you pay is deductible on your tax return.

Yea, don't consolidate your student loan in. I made that mistake before I knew you could write off the interest.

I usually deal with TD or RBC both have worked for me, but yes be careful what your are consolidating and the rates.

Another was told (anyone feel free to correct me if i'm wrong) was when you consolidate it can lower your credit score because it appears as though you are trying to get a handle on all your debt by consolidating to lower your monthly payments.
