In March, Forbes reported that Mercedes had no plans to build an AMG version of its new GL-Class SUV. The truck was simply too heavy and cumbersome for such performance modifications, the report said. But that hasn't stopped Germany tuner Brabus from creating an über GL. The turning firm has put together a package for the vehicle, offering up to 462 hp for a 0-62 mph time of just 6.0 seconds. Top speed moves to 155 mph, and peak torque reaches 454 pound-feet at just 3,100 rpm. As always, Brabus offers a body kit to ensure the hotrod SUV looks the part, and various wheel choices from 18 to 22 inches. To help keep all 6,000 lbs under control, Brabus fitter the GL with 12-piston brakes on 15" rotors.
