  • Porsche 911R

Billed as a “pure-bred sports car built to conform to a time-honored formula”, the 911R is a true wolf in sheep’s clothing with its reserved design and technologies from the 911 GT3 RS. Gone are some of the aerodynamic details from the GT3 RS like the rear wing, while body is finished in distinctive white color with contrasting stripes.

The interior brings retro atmosphere combined with modern technologies such as the carbon-fiber bucket seats, an R-specific 360-mm GT sport steering wheel, and a short shift gearlever. Of course, the big news here is the clutch pedal in the footwell, which controls the six-speed manual gearbox of the car.

Speaking of the transmission, it is mated to a naturally-aspirated flat-six 4.0-liter petrol engine that delivers 500 horsepower (368 kilowatts) and 340 pound-feet (460 newton meters) of torque at 6,250 rpm. This setup is good for a 0-62 miles per hour (0-100 kilometers per hour) sprint in only 3.7 seconds, while the potential top speed stands at 201 mph (323 km/h).

Other improvements include specially tuned rear-axle steering, mechanical rear differential lock, and ceramic-composite brakes. All these come as a standard equipment for the model.

Porsche says it has already started accepting orders for the 911R in UK and Germany with first deliveries planned for early summer.

Apparently even if you wanted one you couldn't get one anyways. From what I hear they were offered to 918 buyers first and supposedly they are all spoken for!

Yes I was going to add, third mortgage for the premium to get one as they are too limited.

                      Amazing car though!!

So they offered all 911 R's to arguably gentleman drivers (aka. mostly non-enthusiasts). Makes sense... NOT!
