My Mom is thinking of getting a B class Benz. Are these a good buy?
Besides the Mercedes website are there good places on the web I could do some research?

    Thanks

      Re: B class

There was a really good review on 5th gear (British TV Program) on the B class a few years back that gave some good info about the car and its engineering. I'l see if I can dig it up on youtube...

        Re: B class

My mom has a B series, I helped her buy it about a year ago and have driven it dozens of times.

She didn't opt for the turbo so it has the base engine, but has all the other luxuries. She got a wicked deal on a leftover 08 off the lot when the 2010's came out.

Both she and I think the car is great. Extremely practical and refined. The interior is dare-I-say better than a VW. Interior space is huge but from the outside it seems small like a hatchback, and it drives like a hatchback around town. Has all the creature comforts. The CVT automatic transmission is perfect for getting around in the city.

Not a sporty car on the highway but as a commuter and a runabout getting shopping and groceries I can't imagine a better car!

            Re: B class

Well we took a B200 base and a turbo for a test drive and she did not care for it. She ended up buying a 2010 Tiguan instead as it felt more comfortable. Thanks for your help everyone.

Some people would say that is trading down. I bet the Tiguan is a lot cheaper though. I do think they look sort cool too.

I am happy that she got the tig. My mom has mobility issues and she found it easier to get in and out of. Oh and yes it worked out to be a little cheaper.

I test drove a 2.0T 4Mo Tiguan a few weeks ago and if I was looking for a bit of a bigger car, hands down this would be it!!! I love them

How much is the Tiguan now? When we shopped there was > 5K difference between getting a totally base Tiguan and a fully loaded turbo B200.
