Is this rare?

I think I saw a SL65 AMG Black in Calgary yesterday.

I didn't have any time to grab pictures, but it looked sick, huge fenders.

Are they rare to see?

I would say yes, this would be the first I have heard of one being in town. I am not sure if you can even buy them in Canada, not listed on MB Canada's site as of this point in time, but doubt there will be that many in town for sure.

Ummm maybe it wasn't one...If I see it again I will try to get a closer look.

It was in the Marda Loop area.

That would be a very rare site, indeed! As far as I know there have only been 3 slated for Canada (2 in Toronto and 1 in Vancouver) but it could have been a US import.

What color was it? I live in Marda Loop and there is a guy with a white SL550 that lives in my building. The new body style looks a bit wider than the previous model so that might have been it.

As far as I know there are none in Calgary and I have asked a bunch of people and usually I see a lot of the rare cars on 17th seeing as how I live and work looking out the window onto the street? Are you sure it wasn't another Merc?

SL65 black series is not a convertible first of all. And yes they are very rare to see.

I saw this car yesterday downtown and can confirm that it was indeed a Black Series SL...brand spankin' new! Probably the sexiest car I've seen in Calgary...
