Any C230 Opinions??

Well I am still a little ways off getting a new car but I have been looking at some sedans, such as the Passat CC, Lexus IS, C class, A4, 3 Series etc. Now at the moment I am liking the C230 as it is an entry level luxury sedan. So for mid 30s you get a 200hp RWD car that is pretty nice looking and available in a manual. Benz lease rates are also pretty attractive at the moment being under 5% (VW rates are crazy high at the moment 9.9% on CCs and that car is bigger than I want probably).

I find the A4 to be too much money, 3 Series very plain in low trim, the IS is nice and a good price for the 250 but I think the C-class is a little roomier and Euro.

So looking to see if anyone has any input on the Benz or this particular market segment.

i don't mind the c230s.. a4s are pricey now yea.. 3 series are too plain in base trim

the IS 250 is a good car.. but super tight inside.. i've driven my mother in laws tons and its nice but i'll take a euro over it any day

9.9 lease on a CC is just retarded.. i've seen a few now and they are quite sharp looking but no way i'd lease at 10% thats just crazy..

My parents bought a C350 recently, and it has been great overall. I've really liked the finish of the MB.

The new C class is beautiful. I think it is one of the best redesigns in recent years. I would definitely go for it. I'm considering it as well when I get rid of the s.

Pros:

Engine sounds great
Leather feels real

Cons:

Automatic
Some of the fit and finish inside feels cheaper than I expected from MB
MB styling
Old man's car

I would take the Lexus for sure. Sorry not euro but the lexus is better.

Also what about Acura?

Any reason you want to go with a sedan and not something like an A3? Just curious, I would find the 5 door more practical. The Merc B-series with the turbo is also an awesome daily driver!

You can get a C230 in a 6 speed manual, and I am a fan of the styling of the Benz. I do like the IS as well, I think it is a very good looking car, I have just heard they are a little small, but I will try one out at some point, still more just thinking at this point.

I had liked the Acura's both the TSX and TL however I feel the 2009 changes have been the equivalent of hitting those cars with the ugly stick and now I am not a fan.

As for the 5 door/hatch idea I don't mind them but I am finding troubles with the price of A3s and Sarah is not at all a fan of that car. The B-Class is kind of cool but thinking of a bit more of a change, but as I said all just thinking at this point.

my dad has a 2008 TLS last model.. looks great.. awesome inside.. decent power (well compared to my s4)

2007 IS 250.. wayyyy to small inside.. go test drive one and you'll agree.. but may its me as i have big shoulders..

of course its has a few mods done, like lowering springs, wheels, lights, and painted reflectors.

Blair, Have you checked out the Infiniti G. They are extremely loaded for the price and what a fun "luxury" car.

Blair, Have you checked out the Infiniti G. They are extremely loaded for the price and what a fun "luxury" car.

I don't mind the G it is great value however to get the manual you are in for the Sport which is over 44,000 which I think is more than I would like to spend.

To me the C230 still just seems the best balance and I love that sport package which gives you 17" wheels, AMG body kit, sport suspension, upgraded brakes and a few other interior and exterior bits for $800, no other company seems to come close to that.

If I could swing a little more money I personally still would like a new STI. I am probably still a ways off the new car so we will see but I am looking forward to the car show so I can have some quality time with all these rides!

Go for the C300 or C350 with 4matic and sport package, this car look good in white, I look at this one before but I need something bigger so I bough the E class Bluetec.
