Seat Ateca
Set to debut at the Geneva Motor Show, the Ateca is a stylish and sporty crossover that features an aggressive front fascia with a trapezoidal grille that is flanked optional LED headlights. Moving further back, we can see plastic body cladding, sharp character lines, and a sporty greenhouse. The model also has roof rails, a tailgate-mounted spoiler, and faux skid plates.
Seat didn't have much to say about the interior but the model features a three-spoke steering wheel, a push-button ignition, and an infotainment system with up to an eight-inch display. The model can also be equipped with a "Connectivity Box" that resides in the center console and wirelessly recharges compatible smartphones.
Speaking of technology, the Ateca can be equipped with an assortment of safety systems including a Traffic Jam Assist system that will automatically accelerate, steer, and brake the car at low speeds. Customers can also order an Emergency Assist system which will automatically bring the car to a halt if the driver becomes unconscious. Other options include Blind Spot Detection, Rear Traffic Alert and Traffic Sign Recognition.
A variety of different engines will be available including a 1.0-liter TSI with 113 horsepower and a 1.4-liter TSI that develops 148. On the diesel side, there's a 1.6-liter TDI with 113 hp and a 2.0-liter TDI that has outputs of 148 hp and 187 hp.
The engines can be connected to either a manual transmission or a dual-clutch DSG gearbox. Front-wheel drive will be standard but all-wheel drive will be optional.
The Ateca will go on sale this spring and pricing will be announced closer to launch.
