British specialty marque Ultima Sports has taken the wraps off the Ultima Evolution Coupe and Convertible.
These two new models retain the Le Mans Group C-inspired body shape and serve as replacements for the Ultima GTR and Ultima Can-Am. Compared to their predecessors, the new cars have been "vastly improved and modernized" and can be had with a Chevy LS V8 engine offered in no less than 15 power tunes, from 350 bhp (261 kW) to 1,020 bhp (760 kW).
The first production Ultima Evolution Coupe was built in the range-topping specification and offers a massive torque of 920 lb-ft (1,246 Nm) from its V8 6.8-liter supercharged engine which is enough to grant the vehicle with a 0-60 mph (0-96 km/h) run in just 2.3 seconds while the 0-100 mph (0-161 km/h) sprint takes 4.9 seconds. It will do 0-150 mph (0-241 km/h) in a mere 8.9 seconds before topping out at more than 240 mph (386 km/h).
Tipping the scales at only 950 kg (2,094 lbs), the coupe benefits from a fully adjustable suspension, LED headlights & taillights and rides on 18-inch alloy wheels wrapped around in Michelin PS2 245/35 ZR18 front & 335/30/ZR18 rear tires. It has many of the amenities you would find in a regular car, such as air conditioning, Alpine entertainment system with sat-nav, leather & Alcantara upholstery, Bluetooth, rearview camera, rear parking sensors and a start button.
