After a lengthy teaser campaign, Morgan has taken the wraps off the Aero 8 in Geneva.
As you would expect, the fifth generation Aero 8 keeps the classic style appreciated by fans of the legendary British marque but comes with a wide variety of mechanical upgrades. For example, the aluminum chassis now has better torsional stiffness and there's also an all-new suspension together with anti-roll bars and a BMW-sourced limited slip differential. Also part of the package is ABS (with EBD), along with cruise control, power steering and airbags while the revised handling has made the car feel more responsive.
Described as being "the most refined Aero product to date", the new Aero 8 is motivated by the same V8 4.8-liter naturally aspirated BMW engine developing 367 bhp (273 kW) which can be teamed up with either a six-speed manual or an automatic transmission equipped with paddle shifter.
There are also some revisions inside the cabin where the owner will find authentic wood accents, textured box-woven carpets and a fine leather trim. Morgan has added a new AC system, an optional touchscreen infotainment system as well as low-slung carbon seats and customization packages.
Production of the fifth-gen Aero 8 is scheduled to begin in the fourth quarter of the year and the car will be available with an optional hardtop. Morgan has announced the Aero SuperSports and Coupe will be phased out in April this year.
