  • Bentley EXP 10 Speed 6

Bentley has unveiled their new EXP 10 Speed 6 concept at the Geneva Motor Show.

Designed to preview a potential new model, the concept is being described as a "sector-defining two-seater sportscar" that combines the finest materials with advanced performance technology.

Bentley declined to release performance specifications but the car has a familiar design that echoes the Continental GT. Despite the similarities, the EXP 10 Speed 6 has a sportier appearance thanks to its smaller size and more dramatic rear end.

The sporty styling continues in the cabin as there's two leather-wrapped sport seats which are separated by a narrow center console with an aluminum, copper and cherry wood gear selector as well as an infotainment system with a 12-inch touchscreen display. Other notable highlights include straight-grain cherry wood trim and a rear luggage compartment that holds four specially-made pieces of luggage.

In a statement, Bentley CEO Wolfgang Dürheimer said “[The] EXP 10 Speed 6 is one vision for Bentley’s future – a powerful, exquisite and individual concept. The showcar has the potential to be the new pinnacle luxury two-seat sports car. It offers thrilling, driver-oriented performance, complete with trademark modern Bentley luxury and effortlessness. Re: Bentley EXP 10 Speed 6

Bentley Sales and Marketing boss Kevin Rose has revealed the company is close to green-lighting a production version of the EXP 10 Speed 6 concept.

Talking to Top Gear, Rose said the car "ticks all the boxes" but it hasn't been approved by the company's board as of yet.

Despite this, Rose said the model will ride on the MSB platform that will debut on the second-generation Porsche Panamera. As he explained, Bentley had a "big hand" in the platform's development and it will become the "core platform for the GT, the [Flying] Spur and the EXP 10 too."

Rose went on to praise the platform's flexibility by noting the company can "create a sedan with a sedan feel or a sports car with a sports car feel." He also dismissed critics who thumb their nose at platform sharing by saying Bentley customers are used to the idea as customers use sharing in their own businesses.

Bentley has been coy on performance specifications but the production model is expected to use a twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 engine. Bentley CEO Wolfgang Durheimer has suggested the company could offer an electric variant with two motors and an all-wheel drive system. The model would reportedly produce between 400-500 hp (298-372 kW), have a top speed of roughly 200 mph (321 km/h) and a range of up to 310 miles (500 km).
