Aston Martin has released another video for their upcoming Vulcan model set to debut in Geneva on March 3.

It turns out rumors about being track-only were true as the Aston Martin Vulcan will obviously be legal on circuits judging by the huge rear wing and the beefier body with side exhausts. According to Autocar, the model was developed as a competitor for the McLaren P1 GTR and the Ferrari FXX K, with production capped at less than 30 units.

Chances are it will be powered by a V12 engine wrapped around in a significantly more aerodynamic and lighter body thanks to an extensive use of carbon fiber, a stripped out interior cabin and other weight-saving measures.

Aston Martin Vulcan customers will probably benefit from an experience program similar to what McLaren will be offering with the P1 GTR and Ferrari with their LaFerrari-based FXX K. This means AM will probably store the cars and clients will be able to drive them at specially organized racing events.

Aston Martin has officially unveiled the new Vulcan.

Described as the brand's "most intense and exhilarating creation to date," the Vulcan is a track-only supercar that was designed to go head-to-head with the best cars in the world.

Looking undeniably aggressive, the Vulcan has a unique front fascia with a massive grille that is integrated into the front splitter. That decision will likely provoke love-or-hate-it reactions but the rest of the car has a number of classic Aston Martin styling cues.

Since the car was built for the track, it features a carbon fiber monocoque, a limited-slip differential and a magnesium torque tube with a carbon fiber propeller shaft. The model also has Brembo racing calipers with carbon ceramic racing discs that measure 380mm front and 360mm rear.

Power is provided by a naturally-aspirated 7.0-liter V12 engine that produces more than 800 bhp (596 kW). Aston Martin was coy on detailed specifications but confirmed the engine is connected to a six-speed sequential transmission. The automaker also said the car has a power-to-weight that exceeds GTE race cars that compete in the FIA World Endurance Championship.

Besides the almighty engine, the Vulcan has a bespoke suspension with adjustable dampers and adjustable anti-roll bars. There's also a variable traction control system and a driver-adjustable anti-lock braking system.

In a statement, Aston Martin CEO Andy Palmer said the Vulcan is a "rare and thrilling supercar" that was "designed and engineered to deliver a genuinely bespoke driving experience that draws on our rich heritage." He went on to say the Vulcan is a "sports car for true sports car lovers" and will set a "whole new standard in the ultra-high luxury supercar class.”

Production will be limited to 24 units and buyers will be offered the opportunity to participate in an extensive track training program. As part of this, owners will receive instruction from experienced racers including Aston Martin Racing’s Darren Turner. They will also get behind the wheel of a number of high-performance models - including the V12 Vantage S, One-77 and Vantage GT4 race car - so they can gradually build experience and develop their track technique before taking their Vulcan for a spin.

Kind of like a Nissan GTR/Ferrari mix. If they got rid of that spoiler it would look really nice.

Well being a track only car, I imagine the spoiler is quite necessary, but it does look more like the V12 Zagato with it removed.

It does probably need the spoiler at extreme speeds, I guess it just sucks when a nice car is ruined because the spoiler wasn't designed into it. They should take a cue form the BAC Mono, the spoiler needs to be part of the design.
