Dutch automaker Vencer has revealed the 2015 Sarthe production version which starts at €270,882 (without VAT).
It was 2012 when Vencer released images and preliminary details of the Sarthe and a year later they showed a pre-production version at Top Marques Monaco. Now, the virtually unknown Dutch specialty marque founded in 2010 says the car is finally ready to enter production phase as a 2015 model year with more than 100 changes compared to the previous version.
Sourcing its name from "Circuit de la Sarthe", the 2015 Vencer Sarthe comes with an updated exterior design featuring a redesigned quarter glass, new engine cover, restyled C-pillars with an "open air-flow" design along with an automatic rear spoiler and aerodynamic front splitters. Step inside the minimalist cabin where there are wide door sills, carbon fiber panels, a combination of leather and Alcantara as well as a multi-tasking digital display providing all relevant info.
At its heart is an eight-cylinder 6.3-liter supercharged engine developing 622 HP (457 kW) at 6,500 rpm and 838 Nm (618 lb-ft) of torque at 4,000 rpm. For comparison purposes, we remind you the pre-production version which lacked the supercharger offered 510 HP (375 kW) and 650 Nm (480 lb-ft).
The old version needed 3.8 seconds for the 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) but the production car will do it 0.2s quicker on its way to a top speed which has increased by 7.5 mph (12 km/h) to 210 mph (338 km/h).
The 2015 Vencer Sarthe benefits from a double wishbone front & rear suspension and weighs only 1,390 kg (3,064 lbs) thanks to the use of high-strength grade tubular steel, carbon fiber body panels, aluminum honeycomb floor structure while the safety structure and rear subframe are manufactured from chrome-molybdenum. Weight is distributed 45 percent front / 55 percent rear and physical dimensions stand at: 4515mm length, 1984mm width, 1190mm height and a 2791mm wheelbase.
Set to be built at a production rate of one unit per month, the 2015 Vencer Sarthe is priced from a rather steep €270,882 (without VAT and other taxes).
