  • Skoda VisionC Concept

Skoda has fully revealed the VisionC design study which gives us a first glimpse of the company's first ever five-door coupe.

The Czech automaker has certainly come a long while since the Volkswagen takeover in 2000 and now they are getting ready to introduce a five-door coupe which will be slotted between the Octavia and Superb in the firm's range. Seen here is an angular and edgy concept called "VisionC" that has a drag coefficient of only 0.26.

Skoda says the VisionC has an "emotionally-charged design" but dare we say there are some Audi A7 Sportback influences. It rides on the MQB platform and packs a four-cylinder TSI 1.4-liter engine with 110 HP (81 kW) which is enough for a top speed of 133 mph (214 km/h). It's actually a bivalent Euro 6-compliant engine capable on running on compressed natural gas (CNG) when it consumes 3.4 kg / 100 km and emits 91 g/km of CO2.

The cabin serves as a preview for future Skoda interiors and comes with four individual seats along with a fully customizable 3D display in front of the driver. In the dashboard center there's a touchscreen multimedia display while the AC controls sit on the glass surface under the screen.

Skoda hasn't said a word about the production model but chances are it will be introduced next year or in 2016.
