  • Aston Martin V12 Vantage S

Following a couple of teasers, Aston Martin has fully revealed the V12 Vantage S which is the firm's fastest production model, with the exception of the limited-run One-77.

Power comes from a V12 6.0-liter engine delivering 573 HP (421 kW) and 620 Nm (457 lb-ft) linked to an automated manual seven-speed Sportshift III AMT gearbox, which is enough for a top speed of 205 mph (330 km/h). No confirmed 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) time yet, but Aston Martin estimates it will be under four seconds.

It tips the scales at 1,665 kg (3,670 lbs) and comes with a three-stage adaptive damping system developed by Bilstein. Stopping power is provided by Brembo with their carbon-ceramic brakes derived from the One-77, while the two-stage Dynamic Stability Control by Continental can be completely turned off.

The Aston Martin V12 Vantage S sits on a new set of ten-spoke lightweight alloys shod in either Pirelli P Zero Corsa dry-weather or P Zero all-weather tires. Other highlights includes a lighter exhaust system, carbon fiber vents and a tweaked front grille inspired by the CC100 concept which has a carbon fiber frame with a titanium or carbon fiber dark mesh. In addition, the grille is now wider to allow better cooling.

The interior can be had with carbon fiber lightweight seats, leather and/or Alcantara upholstery, updated stitching and welt detailing. For more money clients can get an optional carbon fiber interior pack (including facia, door pulls) along with black pedals.

Deliveries are expected to commence before the end of the year and while pricing is not known for the moment, it's a safe bet to say it will be more expensive than the 136,085 GBP V12 Vantage it replaces.

V12 Vantages have always had the hood vents, previously I think they had around 510hp so really just more power and updated equipment.

I like it! Funny placement for the parking brake and seat controls though haha. I would've expected this car to have an electronic parking brake.

i dunno, once again aston underwhelms when you look at the competition.
for the same price you're in ferrari 458 and porsche turboS territory, both of which dominate the aston in power and speed.

and ya we can start debate about power and speed isn't everything, i'm just surprised at how far behind the aston is.

they are sexy cars though, and looks wise its spot on.

I agree that this car is not really a strong competitor in the class, however this one is about looks and sound and allows just a different choice. I personally love the idea of a big V12 in quite a small car and would just love to cruise in one of these.

it's true, v12's are a dying breed, and that makes me sad.
lambo used to be king of the v12's and even they aren't really using them much anymore
