    Re: 2014 Jaguar XFR-S

I KNEW the CTS-V was going to come up. But honestly, that car is a bargain and I would suspect the fit and finish is no where near this Jag. And that's the only car that even comes close in power and (debatable) luxury.

I KNEW you'd say it was a bargain; if it's such a steal why don't they fly out of the dealerships outselling all the Audi and BMW's?

It's not a bargain at all, because of the gap in style, fit and finish. Same as this car, it just doesn't look like a $100,000 car inside OR out.

I'll concede that 60K is low but 70-75 is fair.

IMO most people buy audis and bmws for image. I think a CTS V is too much car for the average joe blow who wants to fit in with the rest of his yuppy friends. Just like saying the fit and finish of either of these cars is sub par, it isn't really, it is just a different style than what you consider ideal.

CTS-V and this car are both pretty much muscle cars, too much power for a daily driver, and lacking in the overall idiot proof driving features and qualities that most people will pay more for. I feel that these days people who want to actually drive a car are fewer than ever, most people just want to get in and get from point a to b with the least effort (input, whatever you want to call it) possible. In the end, I wouldn't want to be driving this car, or a CTS-V in the winter, but I could easily drive an underpowered alternative from BMW or Audi all year round. Ideally we would all have the money and space for multiple cars, than we could have a powerhouse and a daily driver.

Do you really think cars from Audi/Bmw/Mercedes are underpowered? S4, M3, M5, etc? They have more than enough power. If anything cars like this and the CTS-V are just exploiting the "MORE HORSEPOWER IS BETTER" mentality of uneducated shoppers. Do they try to reduce weight to make the car actually drive better? No.

Agreed what CabbySC said. people will pay more for an Audi/BMW than a Jag because they are more acceptable as a luxury car. Jag is the under appreciated luxury car that can't overcome the fact that it's NOT an Audi/BMW.

The CTS-V is a bargain, it's a luxury Corvette. The reason it's not flying off the lot is because people with that money wanting performance well, they'll want to impress their friends with an Audi. The Jag or CTS-V they'll have to justify.

There are some good points but I think the point is that this car should be a great used by in a couple years time as that price should come down pretty quick, at least in the NA market, Jags are still pretty common here so I am not sure they depreciate as much in the UK.

                +1.

I think a Jag XJL will be a STEAL of a deal in a couple of years!

Yea, Jags seem to have bad resale which would actually be another reason why people would rush to Audi/BMW, can understand that.

I like this car except for the wing.
