  • 2014 Jaguar XFR-S

Following a couple of teasers, Jaguar has officially revealed the 2014 XFR-S which debuts today at the Los Angeles Auto Show.

While yesterday we reported that 200 units will arrive in the U.S., it has been confirmed that only 100 cars will reach stateside for the 2014 model year.

It has the same V8 5.0-liter supercharged engine as the XKR-S, outputting 542 hp (405 kW) and 502 lb-ft (680 Nm) of torque. Connected to a ZF eight-speed transmission with Quickshift, the 2014 XFR-S can do the 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) sprint in 4.6 seconds (0-60 mph in 4.4s) and reach an electronically limited top speed of 186 mph (300 km/h).

To improve handling, Jaguar's engineers have recalibrated the Electronic Active Differential and Dynamic Stability Control system, and they also installed wider 20-inch Varuna forged alloys with wider tires to improve grip. It returns an EPA-estimated 15 mpg city / 23 mpg highway / 18 mpg combined and has CO2 emissions of 270 g/km.

In terms of design, it has a deeper front bumper with larger lower central and side air intakes, a carbon fiber front splitter and extended side sills. At the back there's a bigger bumper incorporating a carbon fiber diffuser, while the rear spoiler provides a better management of air flow.

The 2014 Jaguar XFR-S is scheduled to go on sale next summer at a starting price of 99,000 USD.

The spoiler, taillights and steering wheel are ugly. The rest is okay.

Despite how awesome and simplistic that interior is, the center console is actually a PITA to use.

I test-drove one and it took forever to change fan speed and climate control. Then the nav had to wait to load.

I like everything about it, I would be all over it for a different price. $100,000 is ridiculous. This is a $60,000.00 car from what I can see.

                  Apparently, adding S is a $30k premium.

                  The XFR is $60-70k already.

Not sure the wing and the paint work as good on the sedan as the coupe, but good on them for putting it out there regardless.

A luxury car with 542 hp should only be worth 60,000? Considering you can spend 100 grand for an A7 or S6 pretty easily and no where near the performance I would say it's priced a little high but worth more than 60.

Agreed that the colour and spoiler is a bit much for this class of car though.

That is what I am saying. A CTS-V has more HP and a luxury marque as well. $64 grand.

Now I'm not saying a Cadillac is the best car, but this isn't either, it has the body of a Mitsubishi lancer and the sophistication is nowhere on par with ANY European $100,000.00 sedan.
