Smart has introduced the Forstars concept at the Paris Motor Show.
Described as a Sports Utility Coupe, the concept is designed to preview the company's future styling language. As such, it has an aggressive front fascia with large air intakes and LED-infused headlights. There's also a glass roof and an integrated video projector in the hood which effectively turns the car into a mobile cinema.
The two-tone interior is relatively spartan but features a three-pod instrument cluster, painted trim and white leather seats with removable covers. Oddly enough, the rearview mirror is replaced by a smartphone which acts as a digital rearview display.
Motivation is provided by a 17.6 kWh lithium-ion battery which powers an electric motor that develops 82 HP (60 kW) and 135 Nm (100 lb-ft) of torque. It enables the concept to hit a top speed in excess of 130 km/h (81 mph).
