  • Jaguar F-Type Revealed

Following the leaked photo on Chris Doane’s Facebook page, the F-Type is now official as Jaguar has released the first high resolution photo of the model which will make its public appearance next week during the Paris Motor Show.

Design-wise, it will borrow some of the styling cues from last year’s C-X16 concept while under the hood it will have a V6 3.0-liter supercharged engine that pumps out 335 hp (250 kW) and 332 lb-ft (450 Nm). There’s also a more powerful version of this engine with 375 hp (279 kW) and 339 lb-ft (460 Nm). Jaguar also plans on offering the new F-Type with a supercharged V8 5.0-liter that will output somewhere around 503 hp (375 kW) and 542 hp (405 kW).

Full details will be revealed in Paris next week.

A few more pics, not sure what the difference is between the center and dual, dual exhaust models though.

        Re: Jaguar F-Type Revealed

        Details released:

Jaguar has finally unveiled the all-new F-Type in Paris at the Musée Rodin Museumin. The highly anticipated successor of the legendary E-Type is scheduled to reach the showrooms in United Kingdom in May next year as a convertible, while a year and a half later its coupe counterpart will join the lineup.

It will be offered upon launch in three flavors: F-Type, F-Type S and F-Type V8 S. The first one is powered by a V6 3.0-liter engine with 340 HP (250 kW), while the second one gets the same engine tuned to produce 380 HP (279 kW). As for the V8 S, this will feature a newly developed V8 engine with 495 HP (364 kW) and a peak torque of 461 lb-ft (625 Nm), enough for a 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) sprint in 4.2 seconds and an electronically-limited top speed of 186 mph (300 km/h), with CO2 emissions standing at 259 g/km.

The other two less powered versions are no slouch either, with the F-Type S doing the sprint in 4.9 seconds and hitting a top speed of 171 mph (275 km/h), with CO2 emissions of 213 g/km. The entry-level F-Type does the sprint in 5.1 seconds and reaches a maximum speed of 161 mph (260 km/h), while its CO2 emissions are of 209 g/km.

Regardless of the engine choice, all versions are linked to an 8-speed Quickshift transmission, while the F-Type S also gets a Dynamic Launch feature. The 2013 Jaguar F-Type has been fitted with an all-aluminum double wishbone front and rear suspension and an active exhaust system that is offered as standard for the S and V8 S versions. There’s also an active rear spoiler that deploys at speed in order to reduce lift by up to 120 kg (264 pounds).

The base F-Type will cost 58,500 pounds, followed by the S at 67,500 pounds and the V8 S at 79,950 pounds.
