I think the P1 will be a grower on a lot of the naysayers as a result - I see a lot of design cues from the F1 in the P1. And lets not forget the F1 was hardly outlandish in its design with form following function (even if we consider the central seating postion) - the P1 for me is much the same with good reason; I'm sure it'll be a mindblowing drive. I'm excited to see actual photos out on the street.
Hater, is it weird that I read this in your British accent? lol

I am hoping they will have this next to an F1 at the Paris show for comparison, could be the most exciting thing to see at the show!

                    Re: McLaren P1 Concept

The Paris Motor Show represents McLaren’s first ever appearance at an international motor show, and for this occasion they’ve brought the upcoming P1 supercar which will be launched in late 2013. The one shown in Paris is considered as a design study but “more than 95 percent” of the exterior look will be retained.

The British automaker mentions that it’s 600 kg of downforce is the highest level among current road cars and five times more than the MP4-12C. It has a drag coefficient of 0.34 and uses a carbon fiber structure that incorporates a carbon fiber roll-bar over the cabin. Expect a regular windscreen wiper from the final production version and also the steering wheel on the left so no central driving position as in the legendary F1.

The body of the McLaren P1 is made from carbon fiber panels that are “extraordinarily thin” and are molded in large sections. The rear wing is capable of automatic adjustment up to 300mm rearwards while on a racetrack and by up to 120mm while driving on the road. Ahead of the front wheels located under the P1’s front are two flaps that have been installed to increase aerodynamic efficiency and downforce, which in return will increase speed and comfort, according to McLaren.

Expect a price tag of somewhere around 800,000 pounds.

                          Re: McLaren P1 Concept

McLaren has published three photos with the P1's minimalist interior cabin which features a "shrink wrapped" design theme.

A week ago we saw the digital dash of the supercar and now McLaren is showing the interior cabin which has been designed to feel like the "cockpit of a fighter jet." Carbon fiber can be found just about everywhere, without the layer of resin on top which would have added an extra 1.5 kg (3.3 lbs).

A minimum amount of foam was used for the racing bucket seats which have been encased in very thin carbon fiber shells. Each seat weighs only 10.5 kg (23 lbs) and its height will be custom to suit the driver and passenger.

Various other weight saving measures were implemented as the amount of trim used has been minimized while sound deadening material is absent. As standard, the McLaren P1 doesn't come with floor mats but the client can opt for custom ones with lightweight backing.

The P1 supercar will be publicly unveiled next month at the Geneva Motor Show.
