Re: F430 Wrap
There were 2 cars at the Import shows this year in Alberta that had full wraps - so somebody is doing it.
In major US cities I hear its pretty inexpensive vs paint.
I'm sure that it doesn't last long in winter - and probably only a few years in summer.KR

Re: F430 Wrap
to give you guys a ball park for something like this...
a C63 in calgary got the matte black vinyl wrap done at spy design for abit over 4200CDN
i got a quote to do my car. without the roof becuase i wanted to paint my roof black, it was 3700CDN.
PAINT will last longer... you get a rock, or you accidentially rubbed something rough against it it will tear.Reggie Mah | MWDesign Technik Sales Representative

Re: F430 Wrap
I am doing it to my Bus. Paint it just too costly for me. I can buy the raw materials through a hook-up for dirt cheap. The stuff is super durable, especially if you get 8000-series vinyl. I spent 3 years making vinyl signs/stickers/banners and so on. Once the stuff is stuck, it is pretty stuck. Pretty stuck indeed.
My bus is all non-complex curves so it will be easy as hell. It just take patience, and it is all about the prep work. All in the prep.
Reggie, is your 'art' on the paint of your car? That has got to hurt to resale.Last edited by bonfire; 12-07-2009, 12:07 PM.

Re: F430 Wrap
I don't believe you can buff it. I would just wash it. I don't know much on how to take car of the matte stuff. But the gloss you just wash it, not sure how it would do in a car wash, gonna say not well. But just hand wash it.

Re: F430 Wrap
Not sure how to care for it either. Spy Designs has done multiple vehicle wraps including C63, GT-R, F430, etc.. and would recommend them to anyone.
You cannot use it as a protective wrap tho! Please don't think this either, the vinyl is much thinner than your 3M PPF or other PPF products, if you want it on to keep the paint looking new, go ahead, if you want it on instead of a clear bra, you are looking for the wrong product.Tunerworks Performance Inc.
