While Spanish automaker Seat has already laid out plans to reveal the production version of its new Ibiza compact car at this year’s Madrid International Motor Show in May, the Volkswagen subsidiary will offer a taste of what’s to come this week in Geneva as well.
The Seat Bocanegra concept, set to bow at the Geneva Motor Show, is said to foreshadow the new Ibiza, though it remains to be seen how much of the hard-edged three-door concept’s styling will carry over.
In any event, the production Ibiza will be available in three and five-door configurations, with running gear sourced from Skoda’s Fabia (another VW group product). Both gasoline and diesel engines will make the options list, with a turbocharged 1.8-liter four topping the spec sheet.
