  • New mods for 2006: Check out the new look

After a hard year of school and an EXTREMELY long winter in Saskatoon me and my brother got to work on installing new mods after getting back in town last week. Trying to keep the car clean with nothing too extreme. There is alot of stuff that I COULD do but I don't think I'll bother becuase I really like the way it looks right now (I like a simple clean look). Things like the orange sidemarkers...some would get rid of them but I think it suits the look that the car has going.

    New mods include:
    GLI front
GLI'd headlights (outer chrome piece painted black)
    Painted rear valence
    Polished turn down tips
    Painted tail lights R/S/S/R
    2.0L MAF

Didn't have time to take a drive out to the country so street shots will do for now.

Big ups needs to go out to my younger brother who did all the paint work. I helped with the sanding and what not but when it came time to paint he has got it down like none other. Believe it or not....that GLI lip was also painted using cans (both paint and clear coat). The job is flawless.

Hope you like =) I know I do.

And the kind of pic that everyone loves....

I'll be doing night shots tomorrow night (didn't get time to do them today) so keep an eye out for those. This car lovvves night time when it's clean.

Thx for the comments guys. I am just LOVING the way it looks now. Only thing is that I have to be extra careful now with the GLI lip on the front, getting up my driveway is a pain.

Canadian Tire. I swear every year that I will boycott the store because of their shitty service but damn...I always need something from there hahah.

Canadian Tire + Mad paint skillz + Lots of clearcoat = a perfect job!

You seriously cannot tell that it was not done by a bodyshop.
Put like 4 or 5 coats of paint plus a bunch of clear coat and it looks great.

yeah for valence it's fine, I painted my rear valence too. Yeah it's about 8.49 for the tall can. If you are painting your stock valences then I recommend you spend some GOOD time prepping it. Mine didn't turn out 100% great. I would sand em, primer with adhesion promoter (get this from Canadian Tire as well...has a yellow mustang on the can I think), then prime with normal body primer, then paint, then clear.

Match is good as long as your body panels are in decent shape. My front bumper has like 165k on it and is basically sand/rock blasted so obviously my front lip is a bit off. But really it's not too noticable.
