Finished up the rear stretch last night! Its pretty hilarious to ride on now! Fhe stock exhaust did not fit with the wide rear wheel so i was forced to cut off the muffler. Currently running a straight pipe off the header. Lets just say its louder than the typical lawn mower.... Ill either order an aftermarket exhaust or do a custom route.
I got pulled over by the police last night while out for the ride. Was thinking they were pulling me over for being so loud, but they were just asking what it was and they thought it was cool! They asked for my papers and stuff to make sure it was legal to drive, but they were cool about it.
I have a few more things to put on before the show on sunday. Front rubber is being changed out from the giant knobby offload tires to a michelin bopper. and then i will be painting/polishing the front wheel to match the rear.
Ran into some problems with the ruckus after the stretch install... A piece of the kick-starter snapped off and got lodged in the variator. Heard a nasty grinding while riding and then the engine died and wouldn't start up again.
Luckily it was only this piece of metal stuck.
Front tire has been swapped over to a michelin bopper and i did some diy white wall to match the rear. Looks much better!
Made it to illmotion! Was a fun day and the ruckus got tons of attention. Thanks to carley for inviting me into the Flames Booth!(pic from life with jason)
Im super happy with how the ruck is looking. But I'm not done yet. I plan on just driving the crap out of this thing and playing with tuning until the end of the summer, then will probably do a teardown over the winter months.
Lost me with the crazy stretch. looks ready to snap in 1/2.
Still a cool project though.
Shouldn't be an issue. New engine mount is pretty beefy compared to stock. Like I said I will be playing with the stretch lengths to see what I like best.
Really been enjoyed riding this around town all summer and fall. But now its getting to cold to ride :(
Unfortunately 2 weeks ago i took a little spill on the bike. Luckily i wasn't going fast and there was no damage to the bike other than a broken mirror and my scraped arm/elbow. Its good to have your first fall as it keeps things in perspective.
This winter i hope to do a full tear down and "Finnish" the bike. Will be ordering new exhaust, front forks, new front wheel and doing a disk brake conversion up front. i also plan on powder coating the bike, and am taking opinions on colors :P preferably a bright color.
