    Re: New golf!

Received my cherry tails from BEC on friday and had some time to install them today. Have yet to install the harness but should het that done next weekend. Super easy install. Love the way they look on the reflex silver!

I also have a set of eibach pro-kit springs ordered. Should be here soon. They offer a pretty conservative drop but maintain the OEM ride quality! After install I might install bigger spacers in the rear (17.5mm) but I'll see how things look.

Thank you sir. Were you in on the MK7 alberta group buy on the LED's? How are you enjoying the car so far? You mentioned several times you liked the silver. Why didn't you order silver vs. the blue originally?

              Re: New golf!

Ya I went with the cherry red in the group buy. I just love silver, wife wanted to be different and she allowed a new ride to join the stable so I gave in on colour, I do like blue but silver is easier to keep clean and still awsome to look at.

I can't say I love the car, it's very good and does what I need but it's not sporty like the rs4. But I didnt buy it to replace the rs4, it's a car to get me to work and back that is still fun. Every time I drive the rs4 I want to sell it less and less, or until I can buy a replacement for it. I do like that I have no fear in driving it hard, blow a rs4 motor and it's 15k, golf r might be 5-7k. Haha

How do you like it?? Obviously enough to change color.

I feel the same way. When I first got the car I had serious buyers remorse about replacing the RS4. I absolutely loved the RS4. The more I drive the golf the more I am really starting to appreciate it. The one thing with the audi I hated (which I knew going in) was how bloody expensive every little thing is. That got old quickly!

Come drive my rs4 and compare. I'm happy I can afford to keep both, the rs4 will go eventually and hopefully I can take a step forward at that point.

Did you do the opti coat or c quarts??

                    Re: New golf!

Luckily if I ever need my RS4 fix I have several friends that have graciously offered me their car to drive. If I didn't already have one money pit (993) I would have just kept the RS4 and not purchased the Golf R. I think you might feel different about your Golf R if it had a tune. I just have the Neuspeed module and it makes a big difference. Apparently JB1 is better and then of course a full on ECU tune but I like the fact have full warranty.

If I had kept the blue R I would have definitely done a coating but the silver is easy so it will probably just get yearly wax jobs. I do have the entire front end wrapped with suntek film however.

Did you code the taillights or just throw them in and will code them when you get your harness in?? They will work without coding is what I'm asking.
