    Re: Scott’s MK7 Golf R

Nothing new to report at the moment other than my springs are finally on the way! I'm on the fence about whether or not I'm going to install them when they show up or wait until the spring.

I disabled the Soundaktor a few weeks ago and now the car seems very quiet despite the resonator delete and valves being opened, so I'd like to get an exhaust next year I think.

I also just realized that I ordered the car exactly a year ago today, and last weekend marked 6 months with it already. Time certainly flies!

Looks great Scott! What are you thinking of for an exhaust!

I'd really like either an AWE SwitchPath or Milltek cat-back that keeps the valves, but they're both pretty pricey. I'll have to look and see what other options there are out there that I like.

Springs are finally here! I'm going to try to get them installed on Saturday if anyone wants to come help out or hang out in the garage. I also picked up some 034 strut mounts and bearings to install at the same time since I've heard of some people complaining about noise coming from the front suspension after installing springs, so I'm trying to save myself taking everything apart again later.

I'm going to swap over to my winters and install the mud flaps at the same time.

Got my Eibach springs, 034 street density strut mounts, Rokblokz mud flaps, and winter wheels installed yesterday! Just need to throw in my Maxpider mats soon and I'll be all set for winter!

I had to take advantage of at least one Black Friday sale, so I picked up some goodies today thanks to Natty! If the weather cooperates and my garage isn't freezing I'm going to try to get it installed this weekend. Hopefully this will make up for some of the sound I lost when I disabled the soundaktor.

My car actually sounds turbocharged now! This was much easier to install than the intake in my GTI.

Nice, looks good. I don't like the closed box systems, I like to hear the intake.

Looks good scott!. The mk7's are full of ugly plastic. definitely looks nicer. the filter looks kind of small in that big heat shielding though!

Thanks! I prefer the look of closed systems normally, but I didn't like how I couldn't hear the intake at all on my GTI, so I decided to go open this time and I'm happy I did.

Thanks! Yeah, I plan on getting the lower engine cover at some point to cover up that ugly intake manifold - for some reason they don't include that with North American cars. I've heard of people swapping filters with this intake, so that might be something to look at down the road too.
