  • Scott’s MK7 Golf R

Since I’m starting to collect a few parts for my Golf R, I figured it would be a good time to start a thread for it. At the moment, I believe it’s scheduled to be built sometime around mid-January and will likely be here in March. Unlike my GTI, my overall plan for this car is to keep it simple and not mess with the warranty, so likely just some Euro goodies and wheels for now. Once I have a better idea of when it will be here I will figure out if I need to order summer or winter wheels first. Down the road I’m thinking about doing JB1 or JB4 and maybe something with the suspension that will allow me to keep the full DCC functionality.

Before I had to head back overseas, I went snowboarding in Banff for a pals BDay, and he has a MK7 DSG Golf R with a Downpipe and Piggyback ECU module. I must tell you that I was Friggin in awe with how the car got out of the hole. They are impressive, and nice. You made a good choice sir!

Thanks everyone! I think I have my wheels picked out now, I'm just waiting to hear back with pricing. Next on my to do list is to get quotes for the Xpel/SunTek.

Picked up my wheels today - thanks Natty!

In other news, from what I've read over the past few months and based on when my car is expected to be here, my car should be built and sitting at port now. I don't have a commission number or VIN though, so I don't know for sure. If this is the case though, the next ship headed for Halifax is the Adriatic Highway which arrived at the port in Emden today, so it would likely be going on that ship. It's scheduled to arrive in Halifax on February 10th, so that will most likely put it here by the end of the month!

Thanks! I wasn't too sure exactly when the car was going to arrive, so I figured it would be best to get them ordered sooner rather than later.

Also, I was talking to Derek a couple of weeks ago and he was able to look up the status of my car. It was scheduled to be built last week, so that should put it here mid to late March!

I have a few more parts kicking around for this now as well... More things that they're missing from the factory. I have an Audi S3 spare tire and all of the tools sitting in my garage now, and I'm waiting for the hatch trim and foam block that the tools sit inside to arrive. This could quite possibly be the most ridiculous looking spare ever too... It's a 125/70R18!

Compared to the 225/40R18 winter tires, which are already a bit narrower than stock, it looks pretty dumb haha
