      Re: A3 tdi

I found some conversions with A6 grills and stuff but I don't think it was post facelift models. Sigh.

Yeah one guy in Seattle did a full custom swap, used his own grill - cut out the center and replaced with the honeycomb from an ebay S6 grill. Turned out really good, just a lot of work.

Here is his thread on fourtitude:

        http://forums.fourtitude.com/showthr...neycomb-grille

Could likely do the same process with your grill..

Or just drop the 10 large and get the RS3 Body pieces... OK ok its only like 8 grand, but then you need paint...

The front wide body fenders are a carbon composite though.

FOund this on Audi-Sport, in the UK but guy had a group buy set up and the RS grills for facelift do work, its just us pre-facelift guys that got screwed lol.

Looks like they are 220 GBP.

And man I love the look of this grill....

I just love no cross mount on it. That whole kit looks mental, I'm drooling all over my phone.

Yeah that a6 mesh grille conversion is A LOT of work. I dont have the patience or skills for it. Im sure someone will catch on and make one for facelift models. Its ideal but doesnt seem to be as possible as i hoped.

so...im not reeeeaaaaally noticing a huge benefit to diesel as far as fuel economy. I monitor my KMs from fill up to empty, like i always do, and its honestly not even different from my golf, at all. It was actually worse this weekend too, it was driven to canmore, banff, and back, and it used WAY more fuel than the golf ever did for the same drive. Am i missing something or was my golf just better than it should have been?

                  Re: A3 tdi

It should be much better. What sort of kms are you getting from both? Have you done any fuel service (filter, injector cleaner?) or are you putting additives in with the fuel?

                    How many k as well?

Wonder if you need to do an intake cleaning, TDI's can get quite clogged.

Jim, get some Power service additive from Canadian tire, that'll help. And the intakes on the new TDI's don't clog like the ALH intake above. You should be seeing 6-7l per 100kms. I also run only Husky or Petro Can fuel as they have the highest cetane numbers for regular diesel fuel.

Ah wasn't sure if they still had that issue or not.

                            Re: A3 tdi

I usually reset the counter at full and will go as close to the warning light as I can, the Golf would get like 550-650 in the city to a tank. The a3 did the same the first tank, second tank was a bit better at just under 700 but now this one is almost at the warning at 480, and more than half of that was highway. I had a friend at glenmore audi tell me NOT to put any additives but I'll look more into it. It's at 32xxxkm right now and I unfortunately don't know the service history till Monday when it's booked in so maybe that'll have some real explanation.

Any chance the tank is smaller in the A3?

You need to tell us how much fuel you put in.

Use powerservice grey bottle. The fuel needs it.

Your consumption should be a lot better than the gas golf.
