  • Re: Non bacon car

I think these wheels, the color, their height of your car and the wheel size works 100x better than the Rotiform setup. With some spacers and lowering a tad more this is a really aggressive looking setup for your car.

White should look way better for those rims and will suit your camo ....I think...

Perhaps, blast off the black powdercoat and go polished silver, when you return the car to black?

thanks guys, the black will work for now, but i 100% agree that a silver or a brighter colour will show how nice these wheels are. i think the black takes away from the wheel.

If i just get the wheels sandblasted... will it just be machined underneath? or would it be all scuffed up?

Good question. I'll say after polishing the sh!t out of the lips on my LM, and having to remove the original clear coat, that I'll ONLY EVER DO A RECOVERY/WETSAND/POLISH ONCE. It's a major PITA. And that was just the lips. These wheels are way more complicated.

Maybe some sort of acid dip?

yeah i think the only way i would go to a silver look is if they came out machined after sandblasting. These wheels would take forever to polish.

Agree with this all the way. Sand blasting may pit the wheel surface, unless you use a soft enough media, but then it may not strip away the powder coat. Give a shop like Calgary Powder Coat a call. They can chemically strip the powder coat off. Just not sure for how much. I know the stripping is usually included in their per wheel powder coat price, so it might not be that bad for just the stripping alone.

You know what, I really like how they look!
For some reason everything goes together really well, the camo with the black wheels just looks bad ass!

A little tire shine on their and you will be all set!

I like the design of the wheels but the black doesn't show it off very well. That's my issue. Now if you go to a light colour, expect it to be a PITA to keep clean...

The black car will go great with any colour really, so I would say some brighter mid-tone colour to contrast with the car.

                That's my opinion at least.

Thanks ben! i think it will look even better once the wheels have better fitment and the car is lower.

Keep em black, buy Ryan's rs4 brakes and paint them some ungodly bright color, strip the camo, bag it, drop it, done!

Good lord bob.... that looks sweet. Never really thought about painting callipers. or even doing bigger brakes. (i need go fast parts first)

Lowered the car last night, it got late so i want able to fix the small reverse rake going on, so i will do that on the weekend. either lowering the fronts if i can, or raising the rear just a tad. Tires are being swapped today so that the wheels face the proper direction. Im off to Edmonton tomorrow for work, so i hope to hit up that ice-cream meet if i can take a break.

23 ftg Up front, rears sit just a tad lower.

The bum will look awesome once get some spacers.
