It's a weird looking bolt and Dylan and I managed to strip one when we did my coils lol.
hmm yeah, the drivers side bolt came out with ease, but the passsenger side did not want to budge.

      Looks good so far Danny!
Renard was having troubles with those bolts as well, i just put some muscle into it and they came off for me. Helps to use leverage to your advantage too with those tough bolts. Other option is to try and get a penetrating fluid in there such as liquid wrench, helps to get the bolt "unstuck".

we did get some penetrating fluid in there, and the bolt was moving, but the problem was that it wasn't unscrewing it almost seemd like it was seized on the bushing or rusted on the bushing or something like that. it looks like you have to hammer the bolt out a bit before you can pull it out, because it has the camber washer on it. its kinda hard to explain but maybe you know what im talking about.

Whoever was doing that drivers side must've known what they were doing.

Just thinking back we didn't take apart the upper control arm bolts in the rear i don't think but i may be wrong.

In the rear we dropped the subframe, did you guys do the same method? He was having troubles with the subframe bolts when i got there. Basically drop subframe, then use spring compressors to get the spring out and then re-install. Didn't appear to be that difficult from what i remember.

haha thanks. ill try and get some decent pictures up soon. Well, its gonna be low on some decent wheels eventually. maybe if some good black friday deals come up, the mods will come sooner. as for engine mods, i hope to do stage 2, with the possibility of doing a k04 or something later down the road. The performance stuff will come later if i get bored of the current power.

well, from the diy, the first steps were to take off the control arm bolt. i wonder if its not needed to be removed?

                    we followed this diy. http://www.audizine.com/forum/showth...al-and-Install

Yeah i don't remember unbolting or re-bolting that back on. I could be mistaken but just double check with Renard on it.

You guys are making the rear spring install WAY more difficult than necessary, i didnt even use a spring compressor on the rear spring, just dropped the subframe and yanked out the spring by hand.

you didn't have to disconnect the control arm?

Nope, get the strut out, have the car on jackstands on the jack points. put a hydro jack under the rear diff, jack it up just enough that the weight is still on the jack stands.
Then completely back out both subframe bolts (one side at a time) , slowly lower the jack supporting the diff, (make sure you watch the brake lines) you will be able to lower the subframe enough that there will be no tension on the spring and you can just pry it out.
                                Happy wrenching!
