Seals on the exhaust side only maybe? I have little-no oil in my intercooler piping.

Interesting. If my valve cover were to be cracked it could be sucking oil into my breather causing to be full/filthy with oil? Im gonna call Tunedub on monday to see if they saw anything when they had the valve cover off. If they didn't notice or look, ill pull it off and inspect. It will be a good time to check/replace my cam follower anyways. Thanks matt. Would be amazing if this were to be my issue.

link to a similar audizine thread i just found: http://www.audizine.com/forum/showth...VE-valve-cover

      edit: further research: http://www.audizine.com/forum/showth...-oil-separator

from what I'm reading.... it Looks like the glue on the cover on the inside of the valve cover itself can fail causing leaks. When the glue fails it causes cracks, and oil form the secondary oil separator compartment splashes around everywhere and dumps oil into the breather therefore down into the turbo and out the exhaust.

Got anxious and pulled the valve cover off tonight for inspection.

It looks like I'm having issues along the seam of the inside cover (where its glued) there seems to be some cracking and lifting therefore sucking oil from the crank case, down my breather then out the exhaust.

Gonna bring it into tunedub tomorrow and let him look at it, as well as look for a new valve cover.

                Update!

So I brought the valve cover to geroge yesterday and he took a look, said it would be kinda odd that the valve cover would have cracked/warped. Unfortunately he didn't have any in stock to compare, but he plastic welded were the cracks were on my stock cover and put some epoxy over it, told me to give it a shot and see what happens.

took it home left it to dry for a few hours then put the car back together. Took it for a hard drive and the car felt the same as before, with smoke coming out the back, but the more i drove it, the less blue smoke came out and smelt less and less like oil. Good signs.

After driving it for a bit, the car felt different. It felt like the boost was stronger (psi unchanged) almost like the turbo was clogged up before (which it probably was with oil). The car feels much quicker now.

Took the car out with a few friends following me later that night, they confirmed there was no blue smoke coming out the back! Im going to Keep a close eye on oil levels , but I can't smell any oil at all.

Im also going to look at getting the Integrated engineering billet valve cover so that this doesn't happen again.

So i got my new valve cover today, I took a look on the underside of where my old cracks were. The new oem cover looks like crap on the underside. .... Almost worse than the one that is epoxied in the car now.

                  Old cover for reference:

New cover: note the scuff on the underside and bits of plastic all along the edges...

That does look kinda crappy. Doesn't someone make a billet version of this?

integrated engineering makes a billet cover which i was planning on ordering. But you can't run it without a catch can setup. So the total cost would have been over 1100 usd.

did the epoxy solve the oil consumption issue? personally i would probably run the new one, but ultimately would order the IE unit just to avoid the problem all together in the future.. and you get the added bonus of it looking bad ass.. just saying

There is no longer any blue smoke out the exhaust so I'm assuming yes. Im still monitoring, but everything looks okay right now. that cover/can combo is so expensive though lol. Halfway to k04 money

                                Progress update with the car:

Driven Roll in is one day away and i still have a lot to do. I started working full time again now that my semester has ended, so that has given me less time to work on the car. For the most part I've been going to work, coming home working on the car until 10/11 ish.

I borrowed my dad's range rover to go to bc this past weekend, and when i got home, the car was in complete limp mode, so that pushed getting parts on the car back as i was trying to diagnose what happened. Scanned the car and 9 codes popped up that were pretty scary. Turns out my Ecu cover is cracked, was hard to tell because it sits underneath/behind the rain tray. So water was getting in there from car washes and rain. Luckily only one relay that sits underneath the ecu blew up so that was replaced, and everything is fine now.

Back to the fun stuff. I know many will dislike this, Because my car looked so clean... But the car is getting wrapped again. The hood was still in rough shape from the scratches, and i miss the camo. Wrapped the hood on monday night, and finished the trunk yesterday. Im starting to get pretty good at this stuff.

I still have the front and rear bumpers and the sides of the car to do. I also have some carbon pieces going on tonight as well. Its going to be a tight squeeze the next two days. See everyone at driven. Looks like there are going to be a lot of great cars there this year .
