So here is some more progress. We mounted up my oil filter and then did the oil lines to the cooler, stand and filter.

Then we got all the coolant lines and stuff fully done.

Some close ups of the connections.

Overall shots of the bay. Its going to be pretty clean, not much else has to be added except for alternator, power steering lines, and the breather system.

And I thought that this picture looked pretty cool.

Oh and thanks a lot for the compliments guys.

I've been following this thread for updates religiously since I found it. This is something i've thought about for a while, and is a super well done setup. I'm very interested to see your hp figures as you are essentially doing the exact type of setup I would consider. What are your realistic hp goals for this setup? Who did the cyl head modification? Great job on everything, especially that coolant system setup.. great but expensive way to eliminate all of the factory fail points.

We are expecting at the minimum to make 250hp and rev to at least 10000rpm. And all the work on the cylinder head was done by my dad except we sent it to a machine shop to get it decked.

                  Thanks for following.

I have always believed the cams to be the limiting factor for a N/A 1.8 build.. interested to see how your setup turns out. Hopefully you can throw some dyno charts up here someday!

Maybe I'm just young, dumb and blinded by speed. But why spend a ton of time and money making 250hp (which seems high to me) when you could just strap a bigger turbo to it? To each his own but I love turbos. Don't get me wrong though, everything that is going on in here is very impressive, I just don't really get the na part so I'm curious what made you go that route.
Also, I remeber seeing the thread for this from the previous owner. He didn't send it to the junk yard with those recaros did he? Your first post I seen yard so I'm assuming junk yard.

Curious what Adam has to say, but personally i think a 10k+ redline is way cooler than a big turbo haha

                          High Rev NA is fantastic.

My favorite cars were both NA, and I regret selling them.

Not having a turbo/turbos to pull you up from the low revs in any gear makes you a far better driver.

Rev matching becomes a necessary fine art.

When is the last time you saw a NA 20V?

                            Yard was storage yard.

I don't really see the relevance of that question. I've never personally seen an na 20v but I think there's a reason for that. Why have an unusable 200hp when you could have a usable 250hp with a small turbo for a TON cheaper. Don't get me wrong, this is awesome and I can really appreciate the work going into it but if I was spending that kind of money id keep a turbo. I'm not trying to start an argument it was just a question to the guy out of curiosity.

The driving experience is not only about power, the sound, the power delivery, the and response is all part of an engine. These factors may matter more for some people. Like why some people prefer VR6 over modded 1.8T although usually the latter makes more power. BTW 10000 rpm is just amazing!
