  • MKIV to MKV

    Hi all,

I've been browsing the forums for about a year now. Moved to Calgary last May for work after just parting ways with my pride and joy mkiv. Came out with my other daily driver mkiv and earlier this year got a promotion so decided for a new toy and found a mkv which I wasn't really fond of when they first came out but they're grown on me over the years.

So just figured I say hi and introduce myself with past and present toys.

    Past:

And the present (mind the gap, just got the coils on and still tinkering):

Look forward to meeting some fellow enthusiasts!

    Eric

Thanks! It was a 2001 Jetta TDi to start and ended up with a 2004 .:R32 front end and 2008 City Jetta back end.

Lol opening my own grocery store this fall.

I see you got to experience TOD. When did you go and how did you like that?

Welcome, cools cars. I think I saw that Jetta Last December (in Banff?) once but maybe I'm wrong.

              MKIV to MKV

Went down to SOWO in Georgia 2 years ago and drove out to TOD, did it twice, second run was faster on the way back but loved it especially in the diesel with ~400ft lbs. I'd do it again if the drive wasn't so far from Calgary lol.

Unfortunately that car never made it out to banff. 7 years ago it made a trek out to Peace River though haha.

This is how she ended up before I moved :(

Thanks! It was fun to build and even more fun to drive, 455000km on the clock before it left me.

Haven't got a complete game plan for the mkv but parts are always shipping for me it seems haha.

Great looking previous car, and from your FS threads it has had quite a few goodies in it over the years
Good luck on the new car
