Just turns it into a "whoever spent the most money" contest. But meh. What do I know.

It was sweet to see some of the cars. Stand by, I'm about to troll my own thread with some of my pics from GCVW 14

Nice, well if you find wood trim I'd probably take the piano black off your hands. I have the silver fishscale currently.

If you wanted to change it up, Jamie one of the other B6 guys on here showed me if you take acetone or paint thinner or something of the sort and wipe it on the fish scale stuff it comes off and reveals a brushed aluminum looking finish underneath. Looks pretty sweet actually.

Yeah I've heard of trying to achieve this "brushed alluminum" look. Wonder if a scratch pad would take off the black ridges and give it a brushed look.

Scratch pad as in a scotch scuff pad? It would look bad don't do it. The scratches wouldn't be consistent and it wouldn't be gritty enough to really take it down.

Its not as simple as taking acetone to it, you have to strip the clear and the sand it down in one direction to give the brushed look. If you search "brushed aluminum trim" on audizine there are some examples of people who have done it. I feel like I would just **** up my trim lol.

Jamie just told me wipe acetone on it. Maybe some guys are doing it the hard way, I wouldn't imagine the finish is all that strong for interior trim
