Joined this forum because someone was offering some nice wheels, so lets introduce myself.
After only drivin cars from the VAG Group (Golf MK2, Corrado, RS6 Avant, Leon V6, Polo 6N, TT Quattro), we bought a Seat Leon Cupra (2007) and a Golf MKV R32 for my wife
The Project
After another technical issue with the RS6, i traded it with the Cupra. Within a month we've put a 3" Downpipe, 200CPI Cat and custom software by JD Engineering on it: 338HP/342lb·ft.
Lowered it with TripleS Coilovers, and BBS RS861 wheels with 215/35/19 Kumho tyres.
Drove with it untill after the Wörthersee GTI Treffen in Austria, but there i found it, i'm missing the 450HP from my RS6... the Cupra isnt just fast enough anymore.
Made plans while we were staying in Austria, next Winter (2013/2014) the Cupra will be back in the garage again for BIG upgrades.
Unfortunately we were short after that in an accident, a Ducati 999 lost his duo-seat and hit my Cupra in the front:
So started the project a bit earlier, the new daily will be my wifes R32.
Time to get started!
What was allready determined, 400+HP wont work with FWD, so the Cupra will become AWD using a MKV R32 rear axle.
Looks like an easy fit, but we needed to weld the rear floorpan, replaced the gastank, etc etc. This is done but pictures come later.
I'll post updates as they happen, i dont post plans ... because plans can change ;-)
The engine is beeing build as we speak, the current engine is up for sale.
Some vids
Acceleration with the old engine and FWD:
Dashcam footage of the accident with the Ducati:
Testmovie from the GoPro with the new exhaust at the R32:
Update 10/03/2014
Lowered the R32 and put the BBS's on the R32 while we wait for some new wheels to arrive this Summer
