    Re: Katies Cabrio Build

What was the cost with shipping on those mounts? Cheaper than the guy in the states? Going with a hydrolic clutch I take it? There was a Canadian company that made a nice kit for that but I believe they no longer do.

      PM'd cost.

Much cheaper than anything else I've found. The ones from NLS are way overpriced, same with justcaddies. Yep doing a hydro clutch.

          Some progress...finally

Recently the car has been stripped down so we can begin prepping it for paint.

Picked up some new seats which have been dropped off for reupholstery - so I should have those back in a month or so

Pulled all the suspension parts off, sandblasted (still need to paint) and got some new bushings

Rear disc conversion is ready to go as well

          Hopefully more to follow soon!

                      Re: Katies Cabrio Build

Got some more work done over the weekend and this evening.

Most of the suspension parts had been sandblasted and we finally got around to powder coating them on Sunday.

Rear beam almost back together - just the calipers and brake lines are left

We also made a new bracket (to help stiffen the firewall) and modified the original clutch pedal to work with the hydraulic clutch from the mk4 golf

Little more motivated now that it looks like some progress is being made.

Hope so! Tons of progress recently. Like 40+ hours a week!

Unfortunately we're not taking nearly as many photos as we wanted. Leavenworth is just around the corner and we're hoping to make it in time, which leads to rushing through.

Just as an example as so little things that are being done that most people wont even notice, the DBW throttle was a little too modern looking so we modified it to fit the old pedal cover. Looks right at home when mounted

Katie will have more updates soon

After more hours than I can count and some late sleepless nights the Cabrio made its way to get painted today. Also thanks to Colin for the help and teaching me how to do the body work

Trying to decide between Metallic Slate Grey or Daytona Grey - opinions?
