Katies Cabrio Build

As some of you know Katie has an 87 Cabrio. I've been trying to convince her to put a 1.8T in it for a while now, and recently we finally found a donor car so the swap can now begin!

It's going to be a slow process, mostly over the winter months, but we've started tearing the donor motor apart to give it a bit of a refresh. I'll try to document this as well as possible but I'll admit I suck at that.

Here we go!

Recently put a MK4 radio into it to spruce up the interior while keeping that OEM feel:

Damn that cabby car looks good.... Can I grab all the bolts that you don't need from the old engine and tranny? lol my engine swap has been holding back for two weeks because of this.

In to see the progress. I rode in the donor car when the previous owner had it. It sure hauled ass in the mkiv, I could only imagine what it will be like in the cabrio.

Hey Pat, what engine is in the cabby currently? JH? If so are you planning on selling it at any time? This is an awesome project by the way. If I were ambitious enough I'd be trying the same thing I think.

Interior will get a refresh, seats will either be replaced or reupholstered. Depends on if I can convince Katie to put some Recaro Trophies in it

Not sure on engine code, its an 8v with CIS. Yes it will be for sale after it gets pulled.

Tranny mounts will be purchased from justcaddies or nothingleavesstock. Engine mount I'll fab up.
