  • 2012 Beetle

Well I got rid of my TDI and bought a 2012 Beetle.

Didn't really want to post until I had some stuff done to it since a stock beetle isnt overly great.... unless you love beetles.

So, had it a week and installed some H&R springs as I wanted something I could still drive and enjoy.... Did not feel like burning the paint off the quarters on this

Ordered some wheels for it, refinished them with a base clear in a dark garage so up close they still need a little work, if you are at standing height you cannot notice anything. Didn't buy expensive wheels this time since I didn't want to cry when they got marked up as this is obviously a daily driver.

Now I am doing some vinyl stripes color matched to the wheels on the lower doors and the mirror caps done in the same color.... and well that is it a different color complete rip off, of the vwvortex Beetle RS... (mine won't say RS on the side)

Looks cool, kinda reminds me of the 500hp AWD beetle at sema, except the color's reversed.
            What engine do you have?
I like the side vinyl idea, I reckon a rear spoiler would look great.
And center caps or it will be rusty.

Wow no plastidip! Well i can say that you went on the wild side for getting it powdercoated/painted/something more permanent.

There, stripes are on, center caps are in, few small things left to finish.

engine is a super sweet 2.5

Was planning on a rear spoiler but now that I have seen it like this I have changed my mind for now.

As far as the color being permanent I am not sure about how permament, May last this summer then changed for next year.

The side stickers totally make the rims without it all being too ricey. Nice work.

                        Thanks Everyone

Yeah, I agree, i love the color of the rims but with only rims painted it did not look quite right.

As far as buying a beetle.... well I am one of the few that also LOVE the old new beetle but once I seen the new one I was sold on it for sure. Picked up the 2.5 since realistically I only wanted the turbo for bragging rights haha, I drove a stock engine tdi for the past 4 years so I knew I didn't need anymore power. That and the fact that even a used turbo was a little over $10,000 more then I paid for this.
