Re: MrX's VW Journey
Well, here's what I've been up to lately.
I've had this 560SEL in the family since I was a kid and it was my daily driver years ago through University. Well, over the past few years it basically just ended up sitting around and maybe driven once in a blue moon. So what's a guy to do but mod it
Where it started
The paint was terrible on her. She has rust spots on the fenders and doors. The clearcoat had varnish on it from a carpenter spraying in my garage. It was made worse by my dad trying to apply cut/compound by hand, then dry buffing with a wool pad leaving pretty deep swirls on every panel of the car. So first up was a paint correction.
Half/half comparison shot.
Next, lowered her.
Finally, I found my HRE's a nice home
Rear quarter mid fender pull.
End state of the rear quarter.
End product. I'm happy with it.
