Thanks guys! The car hauls ass and sounds amazing. But for whatever reason the single mass flywheel came loose when I invested in new bolts from ecs and torqued them, it printed a few marks on the crank, luckily the crank is forged so all I have to do is to take it out and get the excess machines and polished. On the other hand the flywheel is toast and I'll return to dual mass, with APR bolts and buying a new torque wrench. Sigh... Pulling oil pan off when I didn't even break an oil pan.. While I have nothing to do waitin for parts, where is a good place to buy quality HID kits for a decent price in Calgary?
Just realized that I've never posted any progress pictures of how an ordinary turbo GLI became my GLI. So here are some action you guys missed out on, half the car was re sprayed before driven, a bunch of parts were taken from my last car, and when the 3.2 was removed from the car to get the flywheel and crank fixed(full 4000dorra rebuild) I re sprayed the engine bay and gave it some well deserved clear coat. Then while I was waiting for the engine, I pretty much painted everything I had. I'm coming back from China in two three days with lots of goodies for the car and hopefully I can get the engine back in and have the car ready for into the Rockies. Hopefully I can also get some professionals to take some pictures of the car before I leave Calgary for school, because it'll be in Vancouver for 9 of the 12 months for the next three years.
I claim for the lowest MK4 Jetta in Calgary?
So much painting on this car I never want to paint again
Waited for the engine so long I even painted a bunch of stuff that will rarely be seen inside the car, even dipped my ugly green BFI mounts blue
Oh did I mention I took the fender bolts from my old car and aligned the R lettering on them up all in the same direction? Haha
Left the wilwoods to rust out side of my house for two weeks, also cleaned up the bilsteins and had them installed
Stay tuned for quite possibly the most Chinese Jetta outside of China in a few days! If anyone wants to take pictures of this lil car hit me up!
Finally done first semester in second year, and what a pain! Both car and school! Car rejected all the few old parts I used and made me buy brand new oem parts for it, replaced all coilpacks, fuel pump, knock sensors, fans and control modules, theomostat and switches,, also a fluidampr pulley. Also had to rebuild both outer cvs last week, dirtiest work I've ever done on this car for sure! Also managed to find a mint set of R32 seats. Got bored and moved the p3 gauge to the Center console, still need to paint it since I chopped it but it's much better than a useless vent with a screen in it.
Thanks guys! Semester went alright but was super hectic. Trying to make more time to make this car just a little more special in every way possible, maybe some Chrome spinners or flamethrowers lolol
