    Re: MK2 jetta, Ned

So today I got the rear propshaft back in so the car is awd again. I got some copper exhaust nuts to hold my wastegate on. It's had a tendency to blow off. That seems to have fixed that issue. I swapped alternators to fix a charging issue and I fixed half of my throttle cable issue. Then I went for a drive or 10. It pulls hard. Gets some pretty decent torque steer on shifts but hooks and goes like a rocket. It's pretty fun at wide open throttle. Sounds pretty sweet too

Got a ride in this beast last night. I must say there's nothing quite like the feel of an AWD car going squirrly on you. Its been a long time coming but its great to see this car back on the road Chase. Just dont lock your keys in this one lol

I pulled my hood off and my wiper assembly out and cleaned up and repainted the raintray, then I fixed a couple grounds and mounted my battery in the bay as best I could since I cut out half the battery tray about 4 years ago now. Hopefully my next rotation home I can get that mess cleaned up and move the battery to the trunk. Then I dove into the rad fan harness and realized that my rad fan hasn't worked for probably 3 years now. Since I ditched my a/c and had absolutely no wiring knowledge when I did it. So I cut the factory harness apart and used the original connectors for the battery power and thermoswitch and built a harness for my fan. I was quite impressed with myself when the fan kicked on with the thermoswitch and the after run even worked. I want to pull off the last pieces of boost piping that haven't been painted yet and paint those black to match the rest. Hopefully when I get time to do that I'll pull off the valve cover and repainted it black as well. I picked up some of my stuff that was left in Lethbridge when I moved and found all my interior pieces that were missing and got those on. Going to start looking for a set of power window recaro door cards and rear bench and put the interior all back in. I also mounted my go pro inside with the intentions of making a video. But forgot to turn it on in the excitement of the damn thing leaving the garage. Lots of little things to clean up, hopefully it will make it to a show of some form by the end of august

              Re: MK2 jetta, Ned

I've been going hard the last week to get the car done before my son is born at the end of may. As of tonight I have a full interior again, my tach, fuel level gauge and coolant temp gauge on the stock mk3 cluster all work. The tach was a bit of a pain to get to play nice with the megasquirt but it reads exactly the same as the tunerstudio dashboard now. I mounted the mk2 power window switches in the center console. Moved the dash up about 2 inches so that the wheel wasn't in my lap anymore. I sold the 15 inch snowflakes and picked up a set of 16x8 wagenwheels cs1's. I wired in the rest of the speakers, just have to find speakers to put in now. I also installed my heater controls just in time for nice weather. Well on to the pictures sorry for the shitty quality.

I just have to trim the lower dash pieces a little and they'll go on.
Now its time to put some miles on it. Tune the suspension, and maybe hook up launch control and see what I can't break
Hope to make it out to the next eurodrivers meet.

My God its almost fully finished!!! You know your build has taken you way too long when you start it as a child and finish it as a Father! Although sometimes (most times) you're still a child Chase. Cant wait to see it out this summer!

So it's been a while since I've updated this thread.
The current plan is to drive this to Leavenworth this summer as the only set destination in a month long road trip. So I've been busy working out all of the bugs
On to the few pictures I have
