Yeah, I'm playing around with it but it's so hard since the color spectrum for blue is tight and I have halogens. Either my headlights are white and the ambient lighting is purplish or vice-versa.

20% off MSRP and includes shipping. Very good deal IMO.

I was thinking air lifts but I don't know jack about air suspension so doing research on it right now (one question, being able to do track days with air suspension).

It'll either be exhaust or air bags as my last BIG plan for 2013.

Anything I couldn't do will get pushed to 2014.

                    Re: Cptnslw

Reading more about air suspension and it seems like it IS possible to track the car with a dedicated set.

I find coils too harsh and air suspension gives you an unbeatable ride.

Or I can just leave it stock and make it sound meaner. Who knows?

You could try looking at KW V3s or something along those lines. A nice set of coils with adjustable dampening should be able to give you a ride quality nearly identical to stock.

What about possibly just changing the OEM springs to Volkswagen Racing or Euro springs? Any experience with that?

It'll give me a little low that I'm looking for with OEM ride quality.

I've never really read too much about lowering springs, so I'm no expert. I'm not too sure who sells the Euro springs but I know that APR sells the VWR springs. I would ask someone who has taken that route about what the ride quality is like. If you just do lowering springs, you won't necessarily have springs that are means to go with the stock shocks/struts so they may actually ruin the ride quality. Although I would assume that the VWR and Euro springs would be the best bet to go with the stock shocks/struts.

I was just on the APR website and I noticed that they actually make VWR coilovers now... some with and some without adjustable dampening. Those could be worth taking a look at.

Theres nothing new about that, Nascar used airlift products in the 50's. Air suspension manufacturers are just beginning to market them as a viable option because people think coil overs are the only way to go for tracking your car. That being said, we don't even have a track in Calgary so there's not much to worry about.

                                Re: Cptnslw

So I spoke to Colin to seep more knowledge off of him and recommended to go E-Ride (Accuair?) based on others' experiences. Your name popped up actually, Martin.

So judging by the prices of the kits they sell, the budget is $>2k fully working. Am I right or is it possible to get that down a bit?

Accuair starts at $1600 (http://www.accuairsuspension.com/pro...kerswitch.html) ; Airlift is $2600 (http://www.airliftperformance.com/ap...n-mkvi-golf-r/); Bag Riders start $1700 but there's a a $350 coupon by end of March(!) (http://bagriders.com/modlab/products...ANAGEMENT.html). Air Assisted is Canadian and sells a combo for $2500 (http://www.airassisted.ca/osc/lift-c...r3ppsvf5b6ps16)

Setup looks complicated too but with instructions, should be a weekend job. I think.

At the end of the day, the car will only see ~<5 track days per season.
