  • Whipping my mama volvo...ugh VW

Hey so I sold my old GTI, and picked up a 2005 Platinum Grey GLI. 58 000 miles. Was in excellent condition but water pump and timing belt are due (BTW if you know what your doing and willing to help out it would be greatly appreciated).
    GTI:

(Sold to a younger guy named Martin, told him to sign up)

    GLI:

Sorry for iphone pics but that's all ive got.

    Plans:
-LOW ASAP I have some fk silverlines sitting around that need un-seizing , but will probably be going on bags (18th bday soon (I will pay myself, just need permission)).
    -Remove spoiler and shave trunk.
    -remove pinstriping.
    -Some wheels after winter.
    -Performance mods later.

Let me know what you think

Congrats man! Looks like it's in really good shape! And I like your plans too... I'm not a fan of spoilers on MK4s. And if the bags work out, then you'll have the third bagged PG GLI on here haha

Oh, I'm curious to hear the opinion of someone who's had the opportunity to drive the two back to back... how do you find the 1.8T after having the VR6?

Haha, that was definitely the GLI I saw driving! I recognize the pinstripe.

Can't wait to see it progress!

looking good! solid pickup, you can never go wrong with a pg gli lol. i actually don't mind the spoiler, but removing that and the pinstripe will clean it up nicely! Congrats. i would be glad to help with the air install haha, never done it but i hope to do one myself one day.

Well I haven't had much time driving the GLI to its full potential yet (water pump), but from what I can tell, I will miss the instant power of the vr6 and the sound...mmmm. The turbo is nice to hear as well though. But I think they feel relatively the same if you punch it in that sweet spot in the power band.

I'll remove the pinstripe last (dried up and crusty looking and don't feel like it yet), but both that and the spoiler must go. If I get to doing bags I will make sure to let you know.

and thanks everyone for the positive feedback!

Finally got her insured and registered today, so got out for a couple pics (sorry for my shitty camera skills and IPhone pictures.)
