very exciting news. My car will be one of the first 3 customer cars to received a fully built engine and stage 2 supercharger system from jhm. I'll be taking it down to california sometime in the next month to spend the winter there. 550 - 600 hp at the wheels is the goal of stage 2, but still being finalized.

So Jealous!! How long do they plan on having your car for? Also, what exactly are they doing to it?

I'll get the car back in the spring sometime. Part of my reason for picking up the B200T.

Each block gets cylinder walls honed, custom pistons and rods made for it, full refresh of timing chain components, pre-built re-enforced heads with ceramic valves. They haven't finalized the exact setup for Stage 2 SC yet, but it uses the same blower as stage 1 (which is rated for 800 HP).

Damn!! So excited to see the final outcome!! I'm curious about the honing of the cylinder walls though. I thought the cylinders were made of some sort of metal that made it impossible to hone the cylinders? I thought thats why anyone that had the scored cylinder walls had to get a new block from audi to prevent further oil usage!

              Re: B7 S4 Avant

I was under the impression the issue was the thickness of the block and the already factory stretched tolerances that limited the amount of material that could be removed.

The block material in question is Alusil.

Yea, I thought it was aluminum impregnated with Silicon and it couldn't be honed.

                    Re: B7 S4 Avant

I asked JHM that exact question, and they assured me they've figured out how to both hone the cylinders to alleviate mild scoring as well as sleeving cylinder with bad scoring. They have working examples of both. He said every car that comes out with a built engine will have a different displacement due to each one being handled differently depending on condition.

I'm not even sure you can call a JHM supercharged and built motor 4.2 a mod list.. It should be a pretty quick car given the fastest B6 non built motor supercharged cars run 11.9X at 116s.

I will probably end up using this car as my coffin one day. That was how I pitched the idea to my wife at least

Deposit is paid, shipping agreement is signed, KW's are jacked up to the top. Next time a truck rolls though town she'll be off on her journey.

They're planning on starting the teardown soon. I'll be getting one of the engines they're building right now, so I think they're waiting until it's done before pulling mine out. No firm timeline for all the work, I just told them I want to pick it up in the spring.
