i thought I should start a thread with all of the changes I've made to my car over the past couple of months instead of a new thread for each little update.

I've owned the car for just over 9 months now and have really enjoyed it so far


Here's a couple of shots of it the day I brought it home from Edmonton.




First thing to do was to remove the rubber splash guards!


And then my first purchase for it, some winter wheels and rubber...





When I bought the car it came with the aluminum trim. I got lucky and found a set of OEM Carbon Fiber trim, with the aluminum boarder for a very nice price and 6hrs later I had it all switched out.

After switching to the carbon fiber trim, the plastic grey pieces around my instument cluster and mmi screen stuck out like a sore thumb. The only thing to do was to contact matt @ oCarbon and get him to build me some Carbon Fiber pieces. It was a painfully long wait, but it was worth it in the end!

After all the trim was done, the next thing that really bugged me about the interior was the steering wheel. It was far too thin and really slippery since it was full smooth leather. I really missed the feel of my old B7 S4 wheel with the full leather so the search was on for a replacement.

I ended up going with the Rs5 wheel. It was the thickest and most contured wheel I could find and I would still be able to use my current air bag. This was the cheapest and easily the best mod I have done so far. The feel and look is 100% better then the stock B8 S4 wheel!



After the steering wheel, it only made sense to do the shifter knob, smooth leather before, air leather after!

Today I found some time to install my new pedals. Old ones where just black rubber.

I bought the new B8.5 S4 aluminum set, and then since there is no matching dead pedal I went with the Rs5 Aluminum one. It looks so much better now!

So it's been all appearance and interior mods for me so far.

I do want a tune, but am holding off until there is more concrete info out there regarding the whole TD1 / TD10 stuff that's currently going on. I have over 4 years of warranty left right now and it's a nice feeling

The only thing that I don't love about the car right now is the exhaust! I'm going to go with the Milltek Non-Resonated one this October when the golf course I work at shuts down for the season and I have time to get it done.

Next up is another appearance mod...I just ordered the Deval Carbon Fiber Rear Valance!

Mike, car looks great!

Can't believe you're using such sexy wheels for winters... If they weren't 66.6 centre bore I'd have those on my Coupe in a heartbeat!

I like what you've done with the interior mods so far, and am eagerly anticipating the results of the rear valence.

One of these days I SWEAR I'm going to make it out to Rocky and take you up on that round of golf. We can do a photoshoot and go for a rip past Crimson Lake and back.

Haha you got me Derek, I thought you had the CF trim already! I did finally get my core deposit back a check arrived in the mail, pretty much two months after my trim was back in his hands. Oh well, it will be worth the wait bud!

There was actually another S4 here in Rocky but it's in Red Deer now. It belongs to my buddy Jesse... a B6 S4...the funny thing is that its Noggy Blue lol!

What are the odds...the only two S4's in town and they're both a bright blue that most couldn't tell apart!

When are you getting the exhaust? Cats too or cat-back? Have you thought about an aluminum skid plate for winter (if one is available)?

I never really thought about the skid plate?

I switched out a couple of things this past month.

First I changed up my shifter to the s-line exclusive one, I love the way it looks...



Then I found a killer deal on an updated rs5 wheel, I was really worried about making the switch as I really loved the feel of my B8 rs5 wheel. After a week of driving I'm really happy I did make the switch!
