Re: 2007 Mk4 Golf
Alrighty so summer mode is here! although i beleive i pulled the black and yellow ikon's off pretty well, i am soo happy that those wheels are gone. and i am super happy i picked up these sawblades. im going to be doing some touchup on them this week.
i am just not perfectly satisfied on how they sit right now. Ive talked to a few guys and i am either going to order smaller tires (maybe 215's), machine down the giant spacers (1.3/1.5 inch front and rear) or somehow get a little bit of camber. or maybe all of the above.any advice is greatly appreciated if you got it. i plan on going as low as i can possibly go this summer. I also have a few goodies coming from natty, and going to be ordering skirts pretty soon. I am super excited for the 2.0 and i have already fallen in love with it all over again. also looking at upgrading the suspension for those who know... shh haha.

Re: 2007 Mk4 Golf
I like the current stretch, hard to say if 215 would look like too much stretch or not. how wide are the wheels?sigpic

Re: 2007 Mk4 Golf
If you wanna go low danny, I say go 195/45 in the front and 215/40 in the back. overall the size will be minimally different but the stretch will allow you to go much lower!Patryk

Re: 2007 Mk4 Golf
Those wheels... Nuts...... How on earth did you even get them here? Lol. The VW City Golvette
You need to grind like 5-10mm off the rear spacers.Last edited by kujiwara; 03-25-2013, 08:12 PM.Current Fleet

Re: 2007 Mk4 Golf
IDF plates will make the car lower so you will need to spin the coils up in the rear. They will probably make it ride a bit better because you will have more shock travel. I think they add -2.5 degrees of camber. If you don't want the extra drop, you can get SPC camber shims in varying sizes as well. For the front, you can either do camber plates at the top, again I think SPC makes a kit or you can do what I did on my mk4 and use the ingalls lower camber plates. They mount under the ball joint and essentially they extend the control arm. I think they add about -2 degrees in the front.
