Yup, the PO was an automotive apprentice.

Thanks for the encouragement guys! I'm glad that I'm not the only one!

So I took what Keith said and took a look at the stereo. Not one butt connector or soldered connection once again, everything was just smooshed together and taped.
            Seems Legit..

All working now and no longer cutting out over bumps!

Considering what I do for a living seeing that wiring makes me cringe ever so much. That being said I still love MK2's.

Lookin good so far, I am going to hate on the exhaust tip though. It looks terrible and you need a turndown welded on. Not sure what the suspension is right now but I have a set of mk2 raceland coilovers that are pretty much brand new sitting in my garage. PM me!

Yeah some of the stuff is just scary. I'm surprised that the PO didn't have more issues with it (ie. burning to the ground).

Yeah I'm not a huge fan of the exhaust either. I'm not in love with the JDM angle it has (no pics) and it's way too loud for my taste. It'll be addressed sometime in the future.
As for the suspension, it has FK AK's that in very good shape, so I won't be needing the racelands. Thanks though!

                    Re: MK2 Cleanup/Progress

Haha ya that's what mine looked like. I had all the same problems with wiring and oilpan. I should have took a picture from underneath of the side exit exhaust he welded on. It still makes me laugh. I was embarrassed to drive it home haha. Good luck with this one though. Looks like a good beater

When you have some free time, we will go buy pipe and a muffler and make an exhaust at my house. Sadly my e-level stuff didn't come this week so hopefully early next week and then I will be calling on you and Sean for some help!

Yeah that'd be great, Thanks! And keep me posted with the E-level, I may be busy next weekend but the weekend after that I will be free, I'm sure the three of us can have it done in a day no problem.
