I may get bashed for this...but I have a MK4 Golf with HID's for my hi beams(now out...going to retrofit GTI's)...and only because I live in the mtns(animals)...I really don't see a problem with how I use them...but I've passed PUHLENTY of cars with lows and highs without projectors...and understand the HATE behind it!!!

I can accept high beams, you only use those when no cars are around anyways. But HID's in lows, get the tire lever out. Actually, I just lift up the front of my car and point my headlights right in the backs of those cars.

Glad they are out of your low's Soap!

I see nothing wrong with having HID's in high beams as long as they are OEM ballasts with a very short fire up time and you jumper the high beams on with your low beams. This makes sure that the high beams fire up quickly and you are never driving without any light output. What i was upset with was the fact he was using them in the CITY right behind me for 10 minutes :(

I have seen an abundance of retards in the past year who constantly drive on high beams in the city on well lit streets

                  Re: Soap's 2.slow mk4

Appreciate it guys! I got the skid plate and brackets from natty54 but unfortunately it didn't come with the hardware so I had to go searching everywhere and I think I finally got it all.. except a rivnut tool. So yeah I'll take whose ever at this point haha

And I think I'm gonna go with 205/40 on the monoblocks after I powdercoat them, so if anyone needs the current 215/45/18 on them let me know! Currently waiting for wheel studs and new lug nuts to arrive too as the ones on my adapters aren't long enough.

I got the black steel oem skidplate, but I thought they used the same rivnuts as the evolution import skidplate? The M10 ones

I can't find the aluminum handle for the rivnuts, i can only find the bolt and nut and spacer thingy.

On a side note can anybody confirm that the rivnuts are the same on my rear bags as the skidplate?

**EDIT: The rivnuts are NOT the same for the bags as the skidplate. Ordered some from mcmaster instead.

Test fitting the monoblocks.. Kinda. I don't have the right wheel studs for the adapters yet, I ordered them 2 weeks ago from Mopac and they told me they were backordered but ARP shipped them out today, so hopefully the rims will be mounted on next week!!

Here are the rears, keep in mind the car is still jacked up all the way

Fronts, they might be poking out too much for me.. Not sure what I'm gonna do yet

I decided to try saving some money and paint the rims myself

                          Sanding:

Primer (I thought it looked sick! I was tempted to keep them a matte color):

                          Result:

Messed the first one up with lots of drip marks, so more sanding for me

I still have to add the clear coat on all of them. I'll post pictures once they're mounted! Also thanks to Mike (mDmVR6) for helping me out with the rivnut tool, the skidplate will be mounted soon.

Holy poke batman. I hope you are planning on pulling the crap out of those fenders extremely soon before those wheels go on

They were really loosely put on, they have less poke than the pictures (hopefully) haha but I am planning on rolling and pulling soon. I'm gonna be renting a fender roller from concept1, if anyone wants in PM me!

Thanks Pat, I'll show them to you once I'm done if you want though!
