So I moved into my house a few weekends ago, finally unpacked everything i need to live so i can work a bit on the car getting things up to snuff so to speak.

ORDERED NEW HID's!! I am super stoked about these to be honest. Okay so this is approx how the lumens work for comparison purposes

          Stock 55W halogen 9007 bulbs - 1000 lu
          Upgraded 65W halogen HB5 bulbs - 1350 lu
          HID bulbs (10,000K @ 35W) ~ 2000 lu
          HID bulbs (6000k @ 35W) ~ 2800 lu
          HID bulbs (phillips 4300k @ 35W) ~ 3200 lu
HID bulbs (phillips 4300k @ 50W) ~ 4500 lu <--This was my old setup, but since the bulbs were decently old there is probably a 20% loss factor on them leaving them at ~3600 lu
HID bulbs (Osram SVS 4200K @ 35W) ~ 4200 lu <--these are the bulbs i am getting, notice the 20% increase over the market standard phillips 85122 bulbs which have dominated the market the past 5+ years
HID bulbs (Osram SVS 4200K @ 50W) ~6000 lu <--this is my new setup! The TL projectors have an amazing spread on them making them a very ideal candidate for having this many lumens in a headlight. This leads to a very even ROAD distribution, AKA a fairly top heavy cutoff picture against a building as the TL's tend to spread the light intensity evenly on the road surface at the various distances.

Also got time tonight to repair my front bumper, my GLI lip rests on the ground before the frame of the car so it puts strain/pressure on the lip. So i rivetted and plastic welded the guide back on.

Back together, reinforced so hopefully it doesn't happen again

Came home to find the bumper guides rock solid in place, tried to pry them off to no avail so it should work. Fitment still seems pretty darn good for being crushed into the ground over and over again, working on finding a different bumper cover to rubber spray and run with a 4-mo lip for the winter

                Fixed side:

                Other slightly fixed side:

And very hard into the ground, not really a fan of it, i would rather it be 1/8" off the ground so i didn't have these problems

                Back together
Kinda like the mean look of seeing the whole tread though

Just got back in from a late night cruise. My new HID products came in today and all i can say is OMG. With my high beams on out in the country i am literally driving in the daytime, absolutely everything is lit up for a good few kms down the road and it feels amazing to be able to drive like that. In the city with low beams it is like there is constantly two streetlamps ahead of me whereever i go, it is absolutely unreal. Apparently in the next 15 hours on the bulbs or so they still increase in brightness and change to about 4500k color temp instead of 4200k which will be perfect for city and highway driving
