I idle on cold start at 20hg, and when the engine is warm I'm usually about 22hg. I've never had a boost gauge before, nevermind a turbo engine, so of course I'm interested in comparing usage with other people.

Here is what I've seen for boost in different gears so far.

    1st - none
    2nd - 5PSI
    3rd - 10PSI
    4,5,6 - 16PSI (saw 17 once)
No boost in first gear? From what I remember of my 08 GTI it had boost in all gears.

Well, since installing I have had only limited opportunities to test driving with it. But I think it has shown boost in first, and I've got more in 2nd also. I think in the lower gears boost will only show if I go WOT. But it builds and holds at 16PSI very easily in the higher gears.

Installed my BSH Throttle Body Pipe a couple of days ago. They provide 2 ports for w/m injection which I've got plugged for now. Also a threaded plug to block the noise pipe which I've done. Car is quieter, throttle response is improved, boost builds quicker and acceleration just feels smoother in general. Really happy with this piece. Well worth it.

            Argh....

Was driving home from work, about 3 blocks from my house when a Dodge RAM truck started skidding out of his opposing lane towards me. I pulled to my right to try and avoid, but he slammed right in to me. He then proceeded to burn out in the intersection, spin some donuts and end up in the ditch a hundred yards away. Police dealt with him, I never saw the guy (I learned he was drunk later). Gas station right beside happened to pick up the whole thing on camera, although the cops said I should avoid watching it and rely on my memory for now.

Can't drive my car because the front wheel well liner is rubbing like mad. Though the car starts, I seriously hope no frame damage happened. Thankfully I feel okay, I was able to brace for impact when I realized it was inevitable he was going to hit me.

So gonna be getting some stuff on the go with my insurance. I want the best work done on my car, who should I bring it to?

Sorry to hear about your luck, know that pain all too well. Since it is a newer car look into depreciated value from the accident, it is becoming more and more of a problem and I know most insurance companies do not have it. If anything sue the guy in small claims since he was drunk and the accident was no fault of your own.

Sorry to hear but glad you're okay. It could have been a lot more worse. Gotta hate irresponsible people on the road. Agreed with Stonewall on the small claims. That's ridiculous. Hope everything works out for you in the end buddy.
