Just Joined - New GTI

Hey Everyone, just joined the site today after finding out this was a local Calgary community forum. I picked up a '10 GTI, 4 door, manual, fully-loaded on March 15, 2010. I put my deposit down at the end of November, so 3 1/2 months wait

Now just need to get rid of the '02 Golf! Anyway, glad to be part of the community.

Oh ya, mod plans exist for sure! But I really have to take it easy, I'm spending so much!

So far, I've got 35% tint all around, full 3m package on the front. I've got a BSH race intake on order. The huffs have grown on me a lot, and they are SO easy to keep clean, so I'll be keeping them for my summer wheels. I've tossed around the idea of the BFI torque mount insert, but I don't know exactly how it's going to improve things. Also, I just started looking in to springs, coilovers or cupkits, and ultimately a cupkit is probably more to my liking, I don't want to slam as that's not really my thing.

I love driving around looking for GTI's now. I waved at a guy in a MKV as he was checkin out the ride, but he probably thought I was a bit koo koo!

Hey Hey Derek! Can you believe I got a rock chip on my windshield in the first week?! I took it to Kings and they filled it, so it's not as visible anymore. Couldn't believe it after all the Diamon Fusion video's i watched on youtube!

Woo hoo - I've only seen 1 other MK6 GTI around town, and it was parked in a Future Shop parking lot, could have been black or carbon steel (hard to tell at night). I'm approaching 2k in just about 3 weeks. My BSH intake was finally shipped, so probably next week delivery.

Installed my new BSH Race Intake last night. So far so good, the engine is breathing a lot better, and acceleration just seems to be smoother. There is hardly a difference in daily driving, and the growl from the engine is more pronounced when I step on it. I hear no rake, no harmonics and no flutter from this intake, as many have reported on previous models. It just sounds nice. At idle, the engine now gives a blow off sound when rev'd up.

The one at futureshop is carbon grey, he traded his MKV for it. Its pretty nice i must say.

BTW, I was able to flip the MAF sensor cable around 180 degree's so it's not putting any stress on the cable cover. Looks better too. I made a quick video the night of the install of the new intake rev'ing. I like it

Sold the old car last night! Yay for paying off bills, and ordering the Euro lip front spoiler for the new GTI.
